Mom and Dad's visit Day 10
This was mom and dad's last day in Portland. They didn't fly out till later in the evening so we headed out to Washington Park to check out the Oregon Zoo and the International Rose Garden before enjoying some Mississippi Street Pizza and saying good bye. It was great having them come out and visit and being able to spend time with them. I'm glad that they enjoyed themselves also even if the weather didn't quite cooperate in the beginning.
Mom and Dad's visit Day 9
We didn't really have anything specific planned for this day, so we made the decision that morning to go ahead and do another hike up around Mount Hood to check out Ramona Falls. After our epic hiking day the day before today was another seven mile hike. The falls were totally worth it and the sky cleared a little bit to get a decent view of Mount Hood. On our way back into town we stopped back off at Pittock mansion where mom was able to get some shots of Mount St. Helens, Mount Adams, Mount Hood and downtown Portland.
Mom and Dad's visit Day 8
This day was a busy day. This was our longest hiking day. We began the day driving south towards Corvallis and then heading east towards Lebanon to see the waterfalls at McDowell creek. After we finished there it was a quick lunch stop and then onto Silver Falls state park to conquer the trail of ten falls. It was a full day of hiking, waterfalls and photo taking. And that is why at the end of the day we were the only car left in the parking lot at Silver Falls.
Mom and Dad's visit Day 7
On this day we again headed out to the Coast to checkout the lighthouses of Newport and some tide pools. We had also planned to stop by the kite shop, but by the time we had finished at the first lighthouse they had already closed for the day.
