Its been so long...

... since I've even thought about updating my blog.

A lot has been going on and keeping me busy for the past few months. The first thing is that I accepted a job here in Portland, Oregon on a Monday in August, had my last day in Santa Barbara two days later and had my entire apartment packed up, loaded on a UHaul and in my car, drove up to Oregon and began working that Saturday. Needless to say there was no time to rest and get adjusted to life here in Portland.

The season overall went well, but fell short of the intended goal. The team went through the regular season with one loss and boasted one of the most potent offenses in the country. We made a solid run through the NCAA tournament making it to the Quarterfinals, but came up one goal short to UCLA.

Life in Portland has been up and down. I've met a few solid people to hang out with from time to time. And, now that soccer season is over I have had more of a chance to explore the city. Portland is a great city with a really nice downtown area. There are a ton of restaurants to eat at, galleries to see, and Powell's Books to explore. One bad thing is my commute to and from work. It typically takes me about forty-five minutes to an hour in the morning and then thirty to forty-five minutes in the evening. Last Friday it actually took me two hours to get home. Needless to say, I am looking for an apartment that is closer to work.

That's really about it for what has been going on in my life. I'm flying to South Carolina to spend Christmas with my parents on the 23rd. I'm really excited to spend time with them for the first time in two years. I think they are looking forward to it as well.

As I explore the Portland area, I'll keep you updated.
