Happy 1 year Anniversary

Well, it's official! I just celebrated my one year anniversary of living in Santa Barbara, CA yesterday. It's been a year of expanding my limited palate and meeting new friends. Here's hoping year two is just as rewarding and satisfying!

Coed VB Camp

Coed Volleyball camp was pretty easy other than the fact that I got sick the first day and then struggled through the last couple of days.

I must have been putting out the vibe again Heather, because I had a guy and girl come to me with two unusual problems during the camp.

First, I was asked if I had any Preperation H because this camper has hemrroids and he forget to bring his with him, slightly akward, but nothing to crazy. He did stutter quite a lot when asking though, which made me laugh, because I started thinking about "Austin Powers The Spy Who Shagged Me."

"On the whole I think Preperation H is pretty good!"

Next was this 15 year old girl who comes up to me prefacing her statement with "I'm really embarrassed to sa this to you." My first thought, "oh boy here it comes!" So I asked, what's wrong and she replies that she's constipated and wanted to now if there was anything I could do for her. I didn't quite know what to say. Ultimately, I come to find out that she's been constipated for a week, that this has happened to her a number of times since she was little and that she hasn't seen a Physician about it. I wish I could have done more, but we don't have Mylanta, ex-lax, or metamucil!

Well, summer camps are almost over, thus my abistenance training is practically complete for another year. All that is left is basketball hell camp! 10 days of spoiled rich kid brats whose parents only send them to camp for MJ's autograph! Half these kids don't even know who MJ is!

They don't come much cuter than that!

Summer Camps

It's been awhile since I have blogged and the reason is the oh so wonderful summer camp season, or abstinence seminars as I like to call them. They've been keeping me busy for the past couple of weeks. I begin another round tomorrow morning before a 4 day break followed by the grand daddy of them all; Jordan Camp!

Hopefully , some good stories will come from these last two camps.

Camp Highlights to date:

The genious of whoever manufactures the "Fart Machine." Good times!

Beating everyone in Wii bowling! Unfortunately no alcohol was bet :(

Not getting woken up in the middle of the night during Laker camp; most excellent!

Trop Cookies and Churros! Yummy!

The WTF moment to date:

Is he really bragging about getting email addresses so he can keep in touch with some of the campers? Who is this cracker?

Reading Corner Update

See previous post if you have not already read it. I'm slowly making progress in "Atlas Shrugged". I'm now on page 523! I'm hoping to have this book finished by the end of the Men's Basketball Foreign tour, or in other words by Sept. 10th!

Here's hoping!

There's got to be at least one "Bo Jackson" in this lot!

Convention Recap

I wish there were some better stories to come from convention, but unfortunatley there weren't. Convention was good though, I learned some new skills, saw some people I haven't seen in a long time, and met some new ones!

Biggest Highlight:
Hearing Heather's Track Stories, and reconnecting with friends!

Biggest Disappointment:
A complete lack of Kim! Apparently full contact football camp kept Kim and all the other grad students from attending!

WTF Moment:
My first roommate of grad school made it to Convention. I saw him 3 times and he didn't even make an attempt to say one word to me. No big loss there!

That was Convention in a nut shell!
